About Your Hosts:
Matt Schanandore is the assistant executive director of the Fort
Abraham Lincoln Foundation. He has worked for the foundation since
1999, when he began as a seasonal employee. Since then, he
re-established the Fort Lincoln Concessions, designed the new Mandan
Indian exhibit in the Visitor Center, and planned and executed the
new Fort Lincoln Coffee Company.
Scott Larkin is the research specialist for the Fort Abraham Lincoln
Foundation. He began as a seasonal employee in 2003. He now directs
the Fort Lincoln Melodramas in the summer, and writes, directs, and
edits the “Discovering Fort Lincoln” web series. He also hosts and
edits the Fort Abraham Lincoln Foundation’s audio series “The Past
Times.”

“Discovering Fort Lincoln” is an original web series produced by the Fort
Abraham Lincoln Foundation. It explores little known facts about the historical
sites within Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park, including the military presence at
Fort Abraham Lincoln, and the Mandan culture at the On-a-Slant Village.

General Custer is mostly remembered for his defeat at the Battle of the Little
Big Horn, we provide a look at his earlier military career during the Civil War.
Custer became famous and was praised by his contemporaries for his victories
over the Confederate army.
